Late 19th-early 20th century Tribal mask, West Nepal
A mask from West Nepal with slanted almond shaped eyes, very small ears and an oval mouth showing carved upper and lower teeth over a strong squared chin. There is a jagged crown carved around the upper edge anchored by a row of high relief zigzag carving. The reverse shows deep adze work and rich patina from use. It measures 11 (28 cm) high by 6.5 (16.5 cm) wide by 3.5 (9 cm) inches deep.
