This impressive pair of antique wooden Burmese temple doors is a fine 19th century example of traditional Burmese temple architecture, originating from Burma (Myanmar). Each door stands 183 cm high and is mounted on its own wooden base measuring 66 cm wide by 33 cm deep, allowing the doors to stand independently for display. Expertly carved from wood, the doors are richly decorated with Burmese spirits known as Nats, along with symbolic motifs such as the peacock and the sacred Hintha bird, all of which carry deep cultural and spiritual meaning.
