This pair of intricately hand carved and hand painted Foo dogs are believed to have made in the mid-20th century in the Imperial style. The dogs are composed of a softwood which have been hand carved in considerable detail and painted in a deep red with heavy gilt accents. This pair of Foo dogs originate from China and were presumed to have been made for the export market.
