This mid-19th-century silk chapan coat showcases the refined textile artistry of Central Asia. Its exterior is woven from a vivid sapphire-blue silk brocade enriched with metallic threads, forming an intricate repeating medallion motif highlighted with soft touches of rose. The pattern reflects the sophisticated weaving traditions of urban Uzbek centers during this period.
The coat is lined with printed cotton featuring a contrasting red palette, adding depth and texture to the interior. It remains in well-preserved condition, with minor wear consistent with age and use.
