About the Item
This exquisite Antique Indian Palampore Tree of Life is a breathtaking example of textile artistry and cultural symbolism. Hand-embroidered with remarkable precision, it depicts a lush “Tree of Life” surrounded by delicately detailed animals, plants, and floral motifs—each element symbolizing growth, harmony, and interconnectedness. The design’s vibrant color palette and meticulous needlework showcase the extraordinary craftsmanship of Indian artisans from the 18th–19th century, when Palampores were created as luxury export textiles for European and Asian trade.
The piece is composed of two panels:
Top Half: 5'9" x 7'5"
Bottom Half: 5'9" x 3'9"
Rich in history and artistry, this textile embodies the Indo-European fusion style typical of decorative Palampores, where Indian artistry met Western taste. Perfect for framing, hanging, or draping as a focal point, it brings timeless elegance, heritage, and visual warmth to any interior.
