Arabian Desert Camel Oman Reins Folk Art.
Camel reins in Oman are called a rubkah and khatam which is a camel neck lead with attached reins.
The right rein controls the direction of the camel, while the left rein controls its speed
Members of the camel family are large, mammalian herbivores which live in arid habitats.
Domesticated, one-humped dromedaries of southwest Asia and North Africa make a crucial contribution to man's survival in this desert environment.
Omani people take pride and full care in raising their camels implementing strict methods of taming and nourishment.
They are often embellished with hand made reins and saddles.
