This Ikat textile originates from the Island of Timor, Indonesia. It is hand-woven using naturally dyed yarns via a method passed on through generations. The blue foreground brings to life the array of coloured detailing and distinct tribal patterns. This textile is tubular for ease to be worn as a waist skirt (sarong) by the tribes people of the island.
