About the Item

The first in our line of the "PALIMPSEST" cushion series. A pair of ancient Egyptian Tesem dogs from the tomb of Mereruka in Saqqara, taking a stroll under the rays of the Amarna Atun. The second design depicts the Buchis bull from the Stela of Ptolemy I, walking under the Amarna Atun. The third and last design of the "PALIMPSEST" cushion series shows a group of mauve donkeys from the tomb of the Sheshmnferin Giza,toiling under the Amarna Atun. Each design is offered in a limited edition of 20. All cushions are silkscreened on traditional Egyptian mid-century chintz. Designed by Hassan Abouseda for HAF. Each design can be ordered separately in whatever available quantity. They can be purchased individually in whatever quantity. HAF is a boutique design studio in Cairo - Egypt showcasing designs by co-founder Hassan Abouseda, an architect and interior designer. While the aesthetic is modern in spirit, it is also days homage to classical Egyptian design and traditional Egyptian craftsmanship and materials.
