19th Century Chinese Peking Runner in Ivory, Navy Baby Blue, Green
Located in Barrington, IL
This elegant 19th century Chinese Peking runner is a rare and refined hand knotted rug that embodies the subtle beauty of traditional Chinese design. Woven in soft tones of ivory, navy, and baby blue, the rug features a column of symbolic motifs representing happiness, prosperity, and good fortune, gracefully set against a tranquil ivory field. Two slim borders in baby blue and deep navy frame the design with understated contrast, enhancing the vertical flow and balance. The serene color palette and minimalist layout evoke the meditative quality of Japanese rock gardens, making this piece not only decorative but also spiritually calming. Narrow in width and long in form, this runner is versatile in use—perfect as a hallway or entryway rug, a table runner, or even a wall-hung tapestry to showcase its artistry and cultural symbolism.
