About the Item
An elegant and decorative pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu and Rosso Levanto andirons. Each andiron is raised by ormolu topie shaped legs below the rectangular base with half round ends and a beaded design. Above is the central Rosso Lavanto marble Urn of Prosperity that has a socle with a laurel band below richly chased acanthus leaves. The urns are flanked by swaging ormolu garlands of flowers and fruits below rams heads, all below the eternal flame. Beautifully proportioned.
