About the Item
Elegant pair of Spanish forged-iron andirons dating from circa 1880–1920. Each piece features a sculptural basket-form finial composed of curved iron bands and decorative cut motifs, resting on a circular weighted base. The extended rear arms were originally designed to support firewood inside a traditional hearth.
Crafted entirely by hand, these andirons offer the rich patina and texture characteristic of antique ironwork. Their sculptural quality makes them suitable not only for use in a fireplace but also as decorative objects in contemporary interiors.
A fine example of Southern European blacksmith craftsmanship from the turn of the century.
