About the Item
This 19th-century French zinc rooftop finial features a beautifully weathered patina and originates from a courthouse in Northern France. Raised on a triangular base with a classical capital, it is topped by an urn adorned with four high-relief figures of magistrates wearing period headdresses.
An egg-shaped element wrapped in acanthus leaves and scrolls rises to a tall spike carved in the form of a narwhal tooth. Wear is consistent with age and use, enhancing its authentic architectural character.
