Regency Carved Wood Composition Pelmet by D.J. McLauchlan A stunning Regency-era carved wood composition pelmet by the renowned carver and gilder D.J. McLauchlan, London. The piece showcases exquisite craftsmanship with its true gold leaf gilded finish, highlighted by intricate foliate carvings with a central floral motif. The back of the carving is lined in burgundy, adding depth and richness to the design. Dimensions: Width: 222.5 cm (87 3/4 in) Depth: 48 cm (19 in) Height: 50 cm (19 1/2 in) This exceptional pelmet was originally sourced from Staunton Park, Leominster, and purchased from Harrods' antique department over 40 years ago. It remains in good condition, with light wear to the gold leaf finish and a small, age-appropriate repair to the central carving. Perfect for use as a curtain pelmet or as a grand cornice for a bed, this piece serves as a striking focal point, embodying the elegance and craftsmanship of the Regency period.
