These elegant French oak doors from Burgundy are from the 18th century, and most likely, the Regence period. The upper panels are asymmetrical, and the middle panels has hand forged iron nailheads. These nailheads are repeated on the horizontal, linear panel between the middle panels and lower panels. The other ironwork on the back of the doors are latches, bars attached to the hinges, and a piece at the centre of one door for holding a vertical iron rod that would have fit into an attached piece on the door frame (there was no rod with these doors when we bought them).
