About the Item
Hand-painted iron architectural panel, Indo-Persian/Mughal revival, mid-20th century. Three stacked reserves feature leaping gazelles within scrolling vines and blossoms, rendered in gilt and polychrome over a deep black ground. Originally created as a narrow door or screen insert, the panel now presents as striking wall art; round side bosses hint at its earlier mounting. The surface shows attractive age with scattered wear and stable oxidation, enhancing the decorative patina. Approximately 48 inches tall by 12 inches wide. A dramatic vertical accent for an entry, corridor or above a console, appealing to collectors of Asian/Middle Eastern metalwork, tole painting and architectural salvage. Ready to hang.
