Antique Copper Bath Tub Late 19th–early 20th century This impressive antique copper bath tub exemplifies the transition from utilitarian hygiene to refined domestic luxury at the turn of the 20th century. Hand-hammered from heavy-gauge copper, the tub features a generous, gently contoured form designed for comfort, with rolled edges and an elegant, slightly flared rim. The warm, richly patinated surface bears the honest wear of age, lending depth and character to the metal. The tub rests on four decorative cast brass feet, each modeled with stylized foliate detailing, a motif commonly associated with late Victorian and early Edwardian design. Brass ring handles mounted at either end further enhance both function and visual balance. The seams and riveted construction reflect traditional metalworking techniques used prior to industrial mass production. Originally intended for a grand private residence, this tub would have been a statement of modern convenience and affluence. Today, it offers exceptional decorative versatility.
