About the Item

Wonderful reclaimed 19th-century 3-panel French door with beautiful decorative scalloped details. Install in a new home to instantly add a layer of unrivaled character that can’t be replicated with modern mass-produced doors. Salvaged in France. The door is solid and crafted from either walnut or oak due to its weight. Original chippy ochre and olive paint cover one side with the door’s natural wood on the opposite. Orange oil has been applied to the natural wood side of the door to protect and enhance the appearance. The painted side could be lightly scraped and top-coated to protect the paint or could be stripped and cleaned to match the opposite side. Hardware has been removed (as found). One small piece of decorative molding has fallen off (a long time ago; as found). Minor wood separation present, with overall condition consistent with age and use. Approximately 31.75” W x 75” H x 1.25” D.
