About the Item

A remarkable ensemble of six antique wrought iron door locks dating from the late Renaissance through the Baroque period (16th/ 17th century). These large and highly decorative locks showcase the exceptional craftsmanship of European blacksmiths, with intricate scrollwork, pierced details, and beautifully engineered internal mechanisms. Each lock is unique in form and decoration, representing a range of stylistic variations from the period. Some feature elaborate floral and foliate motifs, while others emphasize strong geometric and architectural lines. The locks include several original iron keys, though some require adjustment to function properly.
