Italian Rococo White Lacquer and Giltwood Door with Gilt Bronze Handles

About the Item

Make a statement of elegance in your home with this Rococo large and important hand carved wood door from Florence, Italy dating back to late 18th Century. This gorgeous Florentine white lacquered and giltwood doorway features intricate carvings, the white lacquer highlight the splendor of gold leaves details, the opulence of the ormolu hardware and the great shape of this one-of-a-kind doorway. The front of the door is decorated with a masterfully deeply hand carved giltwood frames throughout enriched by a shell, scrolls, floral and foliate patterns. The higher section of the door is richly decorated with two molded and shaped gilded wooden frames. The four corners of the external frame feature stylized acanthus leaves finals. The second internal frame with an awesome shape is enriched by leaf motifs and scrolls all centered by a shell. The rectangular frame of the door’s lower section features a geometrical shaped gold frame in the centre with a big scrolled stylized rosette in the middle. In addition to all these hand carved gold decorations, the door also has gold bronzes created with the ancient of lost wax casting technique. The ormolu parts complete the splendid craft work of the gate with both practical and decorative functions. The original antiques finely chiseled gilt bronze hardware work perfectly. Both hinges and lock are a real work of art themselves. Their shapes completely fit the regal style of the door. The door backside is white lacquer and gilded too, decorated with a gold leaves plain frames. This door with its original doorway frame recalls the splendor of Medici era. In Villa/Museum La Petraia, a Villa in Florence owned by The Medici Family, one can admire doors very similar to that one. A very chic and eye-catching antique doorway, perfect to decorate the entrance of any room. Beautiful antique patina and gold leaves handmade artwork carvings and ormolu hardware, perfectly working, key missing. Very good condition. This magnificent door already has its framework structure so it is ready to be installed and used! Measures: Height. 2.65 m., width 1.27 m. (including framework), depth 14 cm .

A very beautiful pair of antique 17th century baroque period hand-carved giltwood Italian sconces made with gold leaves technique. The corner base is finely carved as acanthus leaves with a pine as final up and down.
