An original Victorian era antique wrought iron garden gate, beautifully handcrafted with scrolling decoration and arrowhead finial. At over 140 years of age, this large- scale reclaimed side gate has stood the test of time, light weathering only adding to its unique beauty. Its timeless design will make a stylish addition to gardens and courtyards traditional and contemporary alike, bringing both security and style to a property. Wrought Iron Garden Gates Gates and ironwork made from wrought iron have stood the test of time. This traditional method of craftsmanship sees the metal heated to a high temperature and then hammered into shape by a blacksmith’s hand, creating a robust and durable finish. The more wrought iron is worked, the stronger it becomes, making some of the most ornate antique gates some of the strongest. Large scale commercial production of wrought iron products ended in the mid 1970s due to the expensive and time-consuming nature of blacksmithing, making wrought iron gates true antiques, showcasing talented craftsmanship of the past.
