About the Item

These European antique carved doors are an elegant pair, showcasing classic craftsmanship and historical charm. We recently purchased them from a Beverly Hills home where they resided for many years, They feature a rich, dark wood finish with a naturally aged patina that enhances their character. The design includes raised rectangular panels framed by subtle gold-gilded moldings, adding a touch of understated opulence. Vertical brass hardware, including keyholes and escutcheons, are visible, indicating traditional functionality. The hinges are mounted externally, consistent with old-world joinery methods. Their tall, narrow proportions and intricate paneling suggest they are French or Italian in origin, likely from the 18th or early 19th century. The wear and texture of the wood, including visible grain and minor distressing, highlight their authenticity and storied past—making them perfect for a sophisticated restoration project or as a striking decorative statement in a contemporary space.
