About the Item
Dating to the late 19th century, this American exterior door is a striking blend of utility and age-worn character. Once the first impression of a stately Victorian-era home, it features a large upper lite originally intended for glass and a recessed lower panel surrounded by a molded frame.
Layers of deep teal and cool gray paint have worn and crackled over time, creating a wonderfully mottled patina that reveals glimpses of the original wood beneath. Whether repurposed as a statement pantry door, privacy screen, or built into a new build, it brings a soulfulness that only time can create.
Salvaged in America, circa 1880 - 1900.
The original glass is no longer present.
All hardware has been removed (as found).
Minor wood separation present, with overall condition consistent with age and use.
