About the Item

A rare pair of early 20th-century Tuscan chestnut barn doors, crafted from exceptionally heavy solid chestnut and retaining their original iron key. Sourced from rural Tuscany, these Italian antique doors feature a beautifully weathered grey patina, mellowed by decades of outdoor exposure. The natural grain of the chestnut creates subtle texture and depth, giving the doors a rich, authentic character prized in both rustic and modern interiors. The pair includes traces of their original forged-iron hardware, scattered nailheads, and the gentle arched tops typical of traditional Tuscan architecture. Their weight and durability reflect chestnut’s historic use in Italian farmhouses, villas, and agricultural buildings. Ideal for use as sliding barn doors, interior room dividers, pantry or closet doors, or as striking architectural panels. They also work beautifully as decorative reclaimed wood elements, adding warmth and patina to contemporary, minimal, wabi-sabi, or farmhouse-inspired spaces. These doors are a rare example of Italian architectural salvage, retaining both their soul and provenance. Measurements: Left Door: 25.5" W Right Door: 25" W Height: 75" Depth/Thickness: 2.5"
