About the Item
French fireback produced in honor of a marriage in 1802. The fireback is furthermore decorated with two pillars of Hercules. The pillars refer to the club of Hercules and stand for strength and the unknown. Other decoration consists of two chickens, symbol for France, and an orb, which stands in Christianity for the dominion of God over the word. The style of the fireback is Louis XV.
The fireback is made of cast iron and has a natural brown patina. Upon request it can be made black / pewter. The fireback is in a good condition, no cracks.
