About the Item

An exceptionally rare and fine 19th Century fully restored cast brass adjustable fender in the Neoclassical manner. The pierced frieze with flowerhead and scrolling foliate framed with bands of lambs tongue and guilloche motif detail, flanked with two pairs of varying height urns above plinths, ornately decorated with trailing bell husk, guilloche and scrolling foliate detail, conjoined with foliate swag. The largest urn to the outer corners with a beautiful portrait of a lady in profile with ribbon motif detail, supported on shaped and moulded platform base.
