About the Item
18th century French Louis XV fireback with two Pillars of Hercules. The pillar refers to the club of Hercules and symbolizes strength and the unknown. The date of production, 1780, is also cast in the fireback, as well as the names of the first owners, Simon and Danon.
The fireback has a black / pewter patina. The fireback is made of cast iron. It is in a good condition and does not have cracks.
