A very large and unusual Gothic style hanging cradle fire basket dating back to the mid-19th century. This unusual design sees a wrought and cast iron fire grate in the gothic manner hanging from chains attached to an associated cast iron base.
With its large burning area and versatile design, this antique fire grate could be used in a number of ways. Inside, it would suit the large proportions of an inglenook fireplace or make a statement within a chimneypiece that can be accessed from both sides. Alternatively, it could be used as a unique outdoor fire pit!
