About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this exquisite pair of large original George III plate buckets circa 1760 in the Military Campaign style, hand carved in mahogany with brass stap work Highly collectable, handmade, these are just about as fine and collectable as you would hope to come across anywhere in the world. They are period hand carved pieces as you can tell by the inside timber, the brass work period with a nice patina, these are an absolute gem, the campaign handles are singles pieces attached to the strap work which is very helpful when transporting full buckets of firewood or as they were intended, plates! We have lightly cleaned waxed and polished the timber, they are in very fine order throughout. These were originally made for the staff of great English country houses to carry plates in, they would also leave them by the stove to warm in the buckets, as mentioned today they are used for firewood to see either side of a wonderful brass and leather club fender (please see my other items) Dimensions Height:- 41cm Width:- 39cm Depth:- 39cm This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
