About the Item
A striking and highly decorative Louis XVI–style brass fireplace screen dating to the mid to late 20th century, executed with exceptional attention to classical detail. Designed in a three-panel configuration, the screen features a generously scaled central panel flanked by hinged side panels, allowing for both functional flexibility and strong visual presence.
The richly cast brass frame is embellished with elegant neoclassical motifs, including ribbon-tied laurel garlands, floral swags, and finely modeled pendant drops cascading across the upper rail. A sculptural crest anchors the composition at the top center, while the lower rail is accented with an ornate floral cartouche. The piece stands on stylized paw feet, lending a sculptural, furniture-like quality.
Finished in a warm, glowing brass patina and fitted with fine mesh throughout, this screen offers both beauty and practicality. Its refined proportions and luminous surface make it an ideal statement piece for a formal living room, library, or grand hearth, seamlessly complementing both traditional interiors and elevated transitional spaces.
