An exceptional monumental pair of 19th century French bronze chenets, impressive for their powerful sculptural quality, heavy construction and richly detailed lion figures. A striking statement piece for grand interiors, luxury homes and high-end design projects.
This monumental pair of bronze chenets is among the most impressive examples of 19th century French fireplace decoration. Each piece is dominated by a majestic lion, masterfully modelled with remarkable anatomical precision. The muscular body, strong paws and fully detailed mane reflect the high casting quality associated with the finest French bronze workshops of the period.
The lions stand in a protective, almost heraldic pose, set against a richly designed architectural backdrop. Twisting volutes, acanthus leaves and an elegant vertical finial reference a blend of Régence, late Empire and neoclassical influences.
