About the Item
Pair early 20th Century Mission Arts and Crafts style cast iron andirons.
Beautiful, rich original patina.
Proponets of Mission, Prairie School and Arts and Crafts movements in the United States included Frank Lloyd Wright, Gustav Stickley, Charles Limbert and Ford Johnson, to name just a few. The movements were especially notable for their emphasis on traditional craftsmanship and economic and social reforms, particularly for the opportunities for women as artists, designers and business owners in the early 20th century. The styles focused on quality, use of natural materials and correct principles of design.
