About the Item
PRESENTING A GORGEOUS Pair of Early 19C Philadelphia Brass Andirons with Roman Columns and Ball Finials.
Made in Philadelphia, circa 1800 -10, during the Federal Period.
Made of solid brass, the Andirons each sit on 2 bun feet with curved, flowing legs edged or topped with a curved shell.
The Central Column is in the form and design of a Roman Column which sits on a square plinth and finishes with a squared plinth at the top. The squared plinth is then topped with a large Ball Finial.
The back of the andirons consists of a curved brass bar ending with a smaller ball finial and turned leg, again in solid brass.
Extending backwards the Andirons have a curved cast iron stand that would extend into the fireplace.
These ANDIRONS are EXTREMELY HIGH QUALITY, PERIOD, HIGH-END ANTIQUES!
These pieces have GLORIOUS NATURAL PATINA and AGING.
They would have graced a very fine home in the North East of the US in the Early 19th Century.

Located in Dallas, TX
PRESENTING A EXCEPTIONAL, RARE and MONUMENTAL Pair of Late 19C French Empire Brass Wall Sconces.
These matching pair of wall sconces or wall lights are LARGE!
Made in France, circa 1890 of solid brass in the Empire Style.
Each, is three and a half foot tall (41 inches) and each has 5 branches/lights, with frosted glass flame/torch shades. Unusually, the branches, lights and shades all point downwards, probably due to the Size of each sconce.
They are flush mounted wall sconces/lights and weigh around 30 lbs each.
At the top they have the Classic ribbon bow.
As you move downwards, the have a large convex medallion/armorial medallion, with swags and laurel wreaths below
The lower portion has a central tassel swag over a fluted architectural column which ends with an acorn/flower bulb style finial.
Each light branch is decorated with a floral curved and scrolling leaf.
The rear of the sconces has all the ‘oxidization’ one would expect from late 19th century pieces.
Fully operational and in great condition.
Good quality casting. Not marked, but were undoubtedly made by a top French maker!
WE ‘DARE’ YOU TO FIND ANOTHER PAIR!
A 'FANTASTIC' match for the Empire Bedroom Set in our Collection as seen in the pics.

Set of 9 Art Nouveau Hand Beaten Bronze Door Handles with Plates
Located in Dallas, TX
Presenting a gorgeous and unique set of 9 Art Nouveau hand beaten bronze door handles with plates.
Amazingly complete set!
Probably made in the US circa 1910 and most definitely influenced by the English New Lyn School of Arts and Crafts Era hand-beaten copper pieces.
These are without doubt Art Nouveau in style and from the period.
They were salvaged from a Mansion in Dallas that was built in 1929.
We are of the opinion that these were ‘custom made’ pieces.
They are unmarked and unsigned and they appear to be made of bronze with a brass and copper mix.
The Set consists of:
6 double sided classic door handles/knobs with central lock pin – suitable for door of a minimum of 1.5 inches thick but can accommodate thicker door. Each of these 6 also come with their original back plates (x12) and keyhole covers (x12) for either side of the door.
2 handles/knobs with central lock pin but with small knob on backside- suitable for door of a minimum of 1.5 inches thick but can accommodate thicker door. This pair also has their original (front) back plates and a Yale back plate on the rear.
1 double sided turning door handles/knobs with turning central lock pin – suitable for door of a minimum of 1.5 inches thick but can accommodate thicker door. This also comes with it’s original back plates (x2).
1 Spare Keyhole cover, 2 spare back plates, 1 Spare plain Bronze Turning Knob with pin and 2 spare Hand-beaten Bronze Turning Knobs with pins.
TOTAL OF 63 PIECES!
These were originally used in the Mansion we rescued them from, with Yale Mortice Locks (a number of which we have listed separately in this category).
The fact that they are hand beaten bronze, is highly unusual in itself as most of these types of pieces were copper.
Also, we rescued these from the now demolished Mansion along with the UNIQUE hand beaten Bronze Door Straps...
