A stylish pair of English nineteenth century fire tools featuring a shovel with a pierced end, depicting stylized birds and flowers and a reeded bell form handle, the tongs with a similar fluted handle incorporating a shell motif above an unusual acanthus leaf embellished element. The shovel is stamped on the back with a Victorian registry mark. Circa 1870.
