About the Item
18th century fruitwood and pine mantle from France. The detail on this mantle is lovely. the crown is hand carved with lovely acanthus leaf decoration, following down to a stepped panel, over the main part of the mantle, which has carvings of floral swags and what appear to be sunflowers. There is hand carved molding above the swags for added depth to the mantle.
The mantle is supported on a mantle box, also molded and carved decoration. This mantle will dress up any small area that needs that just right "something" to elevate the area.
