About the Item

A bold and flamboyant 19th century Victorian cast iron fireplace insert by the renowned foundry Carron of Falkirk. A polished outer plate with a raised cast framed border. The returning rectangular tiles in the shade of Victorian dinning room room red. Central to this piece, a relief cast hood displaying a central sunflower flanked with Scottish thistles. The three barred shaped fire front and later ash pan door. The reg number to the rear along with the stamp CN CO date this piece to 1887 Scotland 1887.
