About the Item

A 19th century English neoclassical style mahogany fireplace. The rich French polish finish accents the sharp lines of the dog leg style opening. A deeply carved barrel frieze is dressed with symmetrical foliage. The central tablet has a high relief Lions head over draping fabric. The blending of the Georgian and Neoclassical styles allows this piece to sit well in multiple settings.
