About the Item

A very elegant polished steel late Georgian register fireplace insert grate, a central etched tablet within a repeating beaded border and framed with an outer raised bar moulding. A bowed three barred grate resting on cushion spacers, flanked by etched side panels and endorsed with finials. Below, a bow front pierced apron with applied oval Rosettes. Hyde Park, London, 1837c.
