About the Item

A charming mid-Victorian 19th century cast iron splayed fireplace insert of good form. An outer rim plate showing a border of embellished floral edging terminating onto shaped foot blocks, return splayed cast panels finishing onto further embellished floral edging to the inner opening. The fire front with vertical spindle bars surmounted with polished brass finials, below a shaped pierced ash pan door. English circa 1850.
