About the Item

An English Georgian style antique dog grate in brass and cast iron. The fret work of cut geometric form, with highly engraved and decorated front legs. Beading and chased brass work with scrolled capitals beneath a large gadrooned finials. Shaped bracket spandrels. Eagle embellished fireback, which retains its original wheels. A very good quality English mid 19th century fire grate.
