About the Item
A large and very good quality Regency style fire grate from the later part of the 19th century. The steel bowed bars with short cast iron fireback making a large burning area. The cut and pierced fret of foliage and serpents with broken scrolled front legs and tall engraved steeple finials. Most likely by renowned Scottish foundry Carron.
