This antique and reclaimed 19th-century French mantel is carved from Carrara marble in the refined Louis XVI style. The frieze is centered with a finely carved mask of Bacchus, the Roman god of wine and festivity, framed by scrolling foliage and classical detailing. Fluted legs with block bases and capitals add structure and symmetry, while the molded shelf above follows the clean neoclassical lines.
