Presenting a distinguished French upholstered bronze-mounted firescreen from the 1880s, an exquisite example of late 19th-century craftsmanship blending luxury materials, elegant proportions, and refined decorative artistry. Standing 41" high x 26" wide x 14 1/2" deep, this handsome firescreen features a beautifully carved wooden frame enriched with finely cast bronze and brass accents, capturing the opulence and polish associated with French interiors of the Belle Époque era.
The central panel is upholstered in a richly woven tapestry fabric adorned with scrolling foliage, stylized florals, and warm tones of gold, rust, and olive green. The textile is framed with a decorative rope trim that creates a crisp visual transition between fabric and wood. The firescreen’s crest showcases intricate classical ornamentation, including a floral medallion and bronze wreath motifs. Bronze-mounted vertical borders decorated with laurel and acanthus patterns accentuate its tall, stately silhouette.
