An English Regency period fireplace in highly variegated Calacatta marble with Antico Verde marble inlay. The jambs with panelled inlay supported on square foot blocks and terminating in carved roundel corner blocks. The frieze with panelled inlay again with interdispersed roundels. The shelf reeded. A charming surround. English Circa 1820

A well drawn and proportioned early 19th century antique Irish fireplace from the Regency period. The pilaster jambs with cushion mould panels to front, with conforming detail on brackets. The large fielded panelled tablet with cushion moulded panels either side. All beneath a simple plain shelf. Carved in a certain strain of Italian Carrara marble commonly referred to as "Old English" as it was used predominantly in the late 18th , early 19th centuries.
