About the Item
We are delighted to offer for sale this extremely rare and very collectable, circa 1840-1860 Louis XVI style Saint Remy Marble fireplace.
This fireplace is one of three I have purchased, they originate from Paris France, made in Saint Remy marble, there are two large mid-19th century examples and one extra-large 18th century piece. They came from a friend and colleague who specialises in architectural salvage from Chateaus Castles and generally places of distinction in Belgium, France, Switzerland and the surrounding areas
The piece has been carefully transported and is in very fine order throughout, it breaks down into four easy to transport and install pieces as you can see in the pictures. The mantle top has space at the back, the reason being is the marble is to be recessed inside your wall for stability
Condition wise, its seems to be in great order for the age, there will be age and patina marks here and there as you would expect, please view the detailed pictures clearly as they form part of the description around the condition

Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade
