About the Item

A beautiful and large scale French 19th century Louis XV st. Sarrancolin marble fireplace mantel. The mantel is raised by elegant jambs with most decorative recessed designs and richly sculpted acanthus leaves. The elegant scallop shaped frieze displays a Fine fillet at the border, additional recessed designs and a beautiful finely detailed crest reserve flanked by lovely foliate movements. Above is the original Sarrancolin marble top showcasing the beautiful veins. Interior dimensions: H: 35" L: 62" D: 9".
