About the Item

On four painted legs with rectangular casket form body with openwork latticed motifs with front door. "The letters "TIP" on the stove in the image are part of the brand name "Petit Godin". The emblem on the stove reads "Petit" above the door and "Godin" below it. The letters "TIP" are a partial view of the word "Petit", which is a model of stove manufactured by the French company Godin. Manufacturer: Godin, a French company known for producing cast-iron stoves since 1840. Model: The stove is a "Petit Godin" or "Chaufette" model, which is a small auxiliary heater. Design: These stoves are characterized by their enameled cast iron casing, openwork filigree patterns, and a visible fire behind a glass door. Dimensions: 15 1/2" W at feet, 21" D, 20 1/2" H Condition: There may have been glass panels to the front door which are missing and will require replacement. One tightening nut is missing to top corner. Wear and rust consistent with fireplace use. Untested. May need some degree of restoration and the piece retaining a fine and colorful presentation.
