About the Item

A very large and highly decorative late 19th century English fire grate with striking copper ball and brass claw feet. This complete antique fire basket features an original fireback decoratively cast with traditional swag decoration and fruiting foliage below a striking sun mask. The large burning area features pleasingly shaped bars above a contrasting pierced copper fret. A pair of handcrafted wrought iron twist finials complete the grate with a final flourish of grandeur worthy of any large fireplace wishing to make an impression.
