This 19th-century Qajar Persian coal scuttle pairs traditional metalwork with an unexpectedly modern silhouette. Its hand-hammered, exaggerated crescent form and looping handle evoke a sense of movement and whimsy-bordering on the surreal. Though rooted in utility, the piece reads more like a sculptural study in negative space, volume, and asymmetry.
