About the Item

A superb French 19th century cast iron fountain of a maiden, signed A. Durenne, Sommevoire. The fountain is raised by a circular base where the signature is displayed. Above is a beautiful maiden draped in a wonderfully executed flowing period garment. She is holding an amphora from where the water pours out and is wearing a finely detailed floral and laurel wreath in her hair. All original warm and rich patina throughout.
