About the Item

An impressive and most unique Italian 19th century Neo-Classical st. Rouge de Verone, Valence Pink marble and Patinated Bronze fountain. This exceptional fountain is raised by a solid two level Rouge de Verone and Valence Pink marble triangular shaped mottled base. Above is a classically dressed maiden with her hair in a bun with one hand in her back while the other holding a tapered cylinder. The cylinder supports the stately Rouge de Verone mottled circular marble bowl above. At the center of the bowl is a charming Patinated Bronze cherub which is raised by a circular pedestal with a rounded top. The cherub is draped in a flowing garment while his left hand is raised with a spout. Exceptionally decorative with wonderful proportions and all original patina throughout.
